The Subsidy to Pollution Control Equipment is a financial assistance scheme introduced by the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Puducherry, to promote sustainable industrial growth. It provides partial reimbursement to industrial units for the installation of pollution control equipment. The scheme has been in effect since 1st April 2017 and applies throughout the Union Territory of Puducherry.

Note: Assistance is based on the creation of eligible assets as certified by the Pondicherry Pollution Control Committee.
Eligibility

Unit must have installed pollution control equipment

Equipment should be as per guidelines of Pondicherry Pollution Control Committee

Unit must maintain at least 60% local employment (UT of Puducherry residents)

Must not dispose of fixed assets for at least 5 years

Applicable to both:

New units commenced commercial production on or after 1-4-2017

Existing units undertaking expansion/diversification after that date

Additional investments post-first claim are also eligible
Special Cases: Units with the same promoters but operating in different locations with separate registrations and licenses can apply independently.

Fill all mandatory fields and attach documents (self-attested if required).

Submit the application at the Directorate of Industries and Commerce, Puducherry.

Collect Acknowledgement with submission date and unique tracking number.
Post-Submission Process:

Application is scrutinized by the Directorate on merit.

Eligible cases are placed before the State Level Committee.

Approved subsidy is disbursed via bank or direct credit depending on financing type.
