Shreshtam Scheme for Ensuring Participation of PwDs in Arts & Sports is an initiative launched by the Department of Social Justice, Government of Kerala. This, thus, aspires to ensure equal opportunity for all Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) in the fields of sports and arts, in an absolutely non-discriminatory manner. Spouses and support PwDs in respective fields would be targeted under the Scheme, especially for giving them a hand to showcase their talent in these fields.
The primary goal is to ensure access, inclusion, and effective participation of PwDs in arts and sports. This scheme also helps talented individuals receive specialized training at State/National Academies or Centers, enhancing their skills and boosting their independence.
Benefits
- Each beneficiary can receive up to ₹10,000.
- This amount will be awarded to 10 beneficiaries per district in Kerala.
