Salt Labourers Kids Education Scheme: ₹1,000 to ₹2,000 Rewards, Eligibility

The Scheme for Grant of Rewards to the Children of Salt Labourers was launched in 1985 by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The scheme provides financial assistance to children of salt workers to help them cover the cost of books, stationery, and other educational expenses.

Since 2011-12, the number of rewards has been increased to 3500, with a total financial implication of ₹45 lakh per year.


Benefits

Under this scheme, eligible students receive a one-time reward at the beginning of each academic year:

Application Process

Offline Application

  2. Fill the Application Form:

    • Attach necessary documents.
  3. Submit Through Employer:

    • The filled-in application should be sent to the Salt Commissioner, Jaipur, through the salt worker’s employer before July 31 of the academic year.

Selection Process

  1. Verification by Regional Officer:

    • The Regional Officer will verify all applications and send recommendations to the Salt Commissioner by August 20 of the academic year.
  2. Final Approval:

    • The Salt Commissioner, Jaipur, will make the final selection based on merit.
    • The decision of the Salt Commissioner is final, and no appeal or correspondence will be entertained.
