Application Process
Online Application via the Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB) Portal:
- Registration:
- Visit the official KSB portal: https://ksb.gov.in/.
- Click on “Register” on the homepage, fill out the registration form, upload a photo, and save your details. The registration details and password will be sent to your registered email.
- Activate your account via the activation link sent to your email.
- Logging In and Application Submission:
- Login using your username, password, and verification code.
- Select the relevant scheme name and fill out the new application form with the required details.
- Upload copies of supporting documents (duly attested by the respective Zila Sainik Welfare Officer (ZSWO)).
- Verification:
- Upon submission, the ZSWO will scrutinize the application and arrange for an appointment for verification.
- After successful verification, the ZSWO will recommend the application and forward both hard and soft copies to the KSB through the Rajya Sainik Boards (RSBs) for further processing.
- Processing at KSB Secretariat:
- The Section-in-charge verifies the application and uploads a printed list for the approval of the JD (Welfare).
- Applications are then moved for sanction by the competent authority, typically in quarterly batches.
- Payment Procedure:
- Approved applications are processed in batches (of 200 applications) by the Welfare department.
- After verifying service details and banking information (restricted to PNB/SBI only), payments are made directly via the Electronic Clearing System (ECS) or by an account payee cheque.
Subsequent Grant Renewal:
- Annual Renewal:
To continue receiving the grant in the next financial year, a Life Certificate and a “Disability Certificate” (in the Government prescribed format) must be submitted through the respective ZSB on or before 15th January. - Automatic Forwarding:
Renewal applications are automatically forwarded to the Welfare department by 1st March, after which the department requests sanction for the continuation of the assistance for the next fiscal year.
