The Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) was introduced by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India in the academic session 2019-20 to support higher technical and professional education for the wards of State/UT Police personnel who were martyred during Terror/Naxal attacks.

Eligibility
Who Can Apply?
- Dependent wards of State/UTs Police Personnel who were martyred in terror/Naxalite violence.
- Must be pursuing their first professional degree in:
- Engineering (BE/B.Tech)
- Medicine (MBBS/BDS)
- Dental, Veterinary
- BBA, BCA, B.Pharma
- B.Sc (Nursing, Agriculture, etc.)
- MBA, MCA
Academic Requirements
- New Applicants:
- Minimum 60% marks in 10+2/Diploma/Graduation.
- Renewal Applicants:
- Minimum 50% marks in each academic year.
- 1-year grace period allowed for delayed renewal applications.
Additional Conditions
- No rank restriction for eligible candidates.
- Only two children per family can avail of the scholarship.
- Both married and unmarried wards are eligible.
Exclusions
Not Eligible for PMSS
- Wards of civilian employees of States/UTs Police.
- Students pursuing professional courses via distance learning.
- Students availing other scholarships/stipends.
- Applicants who have already received PMSS benefits before.
- Students pursuing diploma courses or non-degree programs.
- Students studying abroad.
- Applicants changing their college/course after selection.

For Registered Applicants
- Login with your Application ID & Password.
- Select the Scholarship category.
- Fill out the application form with personal, academic, and bank details.
- Upload required documents and submit the application.
Scholarship Amount Disbursement
- Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) via Public Finance Management System (PFMS).
- Amount credited directly to the applicant’s bank account.
Personal Letter from the Prime Minister
- All selected applicants receive a personalized letter from the Hon’ble Prime Minister.
