The National Mission on Edible Oils – Oil Palm (NMEO-OP) is a centrally sponsored initiative aimed at increasing the area, production, and productivity of oil palm in India. The mission is implemented through a partnership model involving State Departments of Agriculture and Horticulture, ICAR institutions, SAUs, KVKs, private processors, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
The Department of Agriculture/Horticulture of State Governments will act as the Nodal Agency for implementing the program in close collaboration with Oil Palm Processors. Private stakeholders are also encouraged to participate via seed gardens, nurseries, and processing mills.
