Providing quality higher education at the university level and leading to a degree of M.Phil. / Ph.D. is the goal of this scheme to assist OBC students in higher education. A system will not only make them eligible for employment to Lecturers posts which are being ailed in many colleges and universities but also they shall rightly avail the increasing opportunities at national/international level within this context order economic new order.ผู้ชาย
Scope of the Scheme:
- Junior Research Fellowships (JRF): The scheme provides 1000 slots annually for JRF under two categories:
- 750 slots for NET-JRF for Humanities/Social Sciences.
- 250 slots for UGC-CSIR NET-JRF for Science streams.
- The scheme is designed to offer 300 JRF slots initially, with the number of slots increased to 1000 per year.
- Fellowship Availability: The fellowship is available for M.Phil. and Ph.D. courses and aims to support OBC students to undertake advanced studies and research.
Benefits:
- Fellowship Amount:
- Humanities/Social Science: ₹31,000 per month for the first 2 years (JRF), ₹35,000 for the next 3 years (SRF).
- Engineering/Technology: ₹31,000 per month for the first 2 years (JRF), ₹35,000 for the next 3 years (SRF).
- Contingency:
- Humanities/Social Science: ₹10,000 per annum for the first 2 years, ₹20,500 per annum for the remaining period.
- Science/Engineering: ₹12,000 per annum for the first 2 years, ₹25,000 per annum for the remaining period.
- Escorts/Reader Assistance: ₹2,000 per month for physically and visually handicapped candidates.
- House Rent Allowance (HRA): Provided for those not availing of hostel accommodation.

Eligibility:
- OBC students must qualify for the NET-JRF or UGC-CSIR NET-JRF.
- The applicant must have graduated with a recognized degree in Humanities, Social Sciences, Science, Engineering, or Technology.
- Annual Family Income should not exceed ₹6,00,000.
- The fellowship is available only for students pursuing regular, full-time M.Phil./Ph.D. courses.
- Students must be enrolled in recognized universities or institutions under UGC Act, 1956.
- Age Limit: As determined by UPSC for Civil Services eligibility.
Selection Procedure:
- Merit-Based Selection: Selection is based on merit in NET-JRF and UGC-CSIR NET-JRF exams conducted twice a year.
- Preference is given to students who have secured admission in M.Phil./Ph.D. courses in recognized institutions.
- If sufficient eligible candidates are not available, others will be selected based on merit in the exam.
Exclusions:
- Employees of universities, colleges, educational institutions, or government bodies (Central/State/UT) cannot avail of the fellowship.
- The fellowship will be canceled if the candidate is found to be ineligible or has provided false/misleading information.
