Mukhyamantri Maschyajibi Kalyan Yojana (MMKY): Subsidies for Boats, Engines, and Nets

Launched under the Mukhyamantri Maschyajibi Kalyan Yojana (MMKY) by the Fisheries & Animal Resources Development Department, Government of Odisha, this scheme is designed to boost marine fish production and enhance the incomes and livelihoods of coastal fishers. The scheme provides financial assistance for the procurement of new wooden/FRP boats, engines, and fishing nets to modernize fishing operations.

• Mandatory Components:
  Procurement of the fishing boat is mandatory, while the purchase of the engine and fishing net is optional based on the fisherman’s requirement.

• Unit Limit:
  Assistance is limited to one complete unit (boat with engine and net) per individual beneficiary.

• Frequency:
  A beneficiary family can avail the subsidy only once; no multiple benefits under the same scheme if any family member has received the subsidy in the past 3–5 years (as applicable).

Eligibility

• Beneficiary Profile:

  • Must be a fish farmer, either as an individual or a member of a registered Fisheries Cooperative Society/Association.

  • Must be a resident of Odisha.

• Prior Assistance:
  The beneficiary should not have received any financial assistance for purchasing a new boat or engine in the last 5 years (since 1st April 2018) or for a fishing net in the last 3 years (since 1st April 2020).

• Additional Requirement:
  The fishing canoe must be registered with the appropriate authorities.

1. Registration:

   • Visit the Go-Sugam Portal at https://sugam.odisha.gov.in/website/home and click “Register Now” after selecting “Apply.”

   • Complete the registration by filling in mandatory details such as name, address, email, mobile number, etc.

2. Application Submission:

   • Log in using your credentials.

   • Choose the “MMKY-Financial Assistance for New Boat, Engine, and Net” scheme from the list.

   • Fill in all required details and provide bank details.

   • Upload all necessary documents (ensuring the file size and format comply with guidelines).

   • Submit the application and note the Application Reference ID.

3. Tracking:

   • You can track the status of your application via the portal.

Offline Process

• Alternatively, you may obtain the prescribed application form from your nearest office and submit the completed, signed form along with the required documents to the relevant authority.
