• All categories of farmers including general, SC, ST, BPL, Women, and landless persons in Himachal Pradesh.
• Mandatory Training: All applicants must undergo training/awareness in goat husbandry provided by the Senior Veterinary Officer.

• Unemployed SC, ST, Women, and General category persons
• Families with no member in a Government job
• Persons with an annual income not exceeding ₹2 lakh per annum
• Farmers who have built their own goat sheds or have constructed one under MGNREGA
