The Kanya Dhan Scheme for SC Students is a welfare scheme designed by the Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Goa, to support Scheduled Caste (SC) girl students who complete the 12th standard examinations or their equivalent. The eligible students will receive a fixed deposit of ₹25,000 with the aim of assisting further education and empowering girls in the state.
Benefits:
- Amount: ₹25,000 is provided as a fixed deposit in the name of the girl child.
- The amount is transferred directly to the nominated officer by the Government after the student successfully clears the 12th standard examination.
Eligibility Criteria:
For Application:
- The applicant must be a girl student.
- The student must have passed the 10th standard examination.
- The applicant must have appeared in the 11th standard in any stream (Science/Arts/Commerce/Vocational/ITI).
- A maximum of 2 girl children per family are entitled to benefit from this scheme.
For Disbursal of Benefits:
- The applicant must have passed the 12th standard examination within three attempts or two years of the first attempt, whichever is earlier. If this is not met, the money will be forfeited and credited to the Government Treasury.
Application Process:
For Registration:
- Visit the Chief Minister Scholarship Portal.
- Click on the “Register” button at the top-right corner of the page.
- Fill in the mandatory details such as Name, Gender, Category, Aadhaar Number, Mobile Number, Email ID, and Address.
- Create a password and confirm the registration.
- Click on “Register” to complete the process.
For Application:
- After registration, log in using your username and password.
- On the dashboard, select the Kanya Dhan Scheme.
- Click on “Fresh Application” and fill in all the required details.
- Upload the necessary documents and click “Submit“.
Post Application Process:
- Once submitted, the application will be verified by the school or institution and forwarded to the Directorate for further scrutiny.
- If there are any issues, the application will be sent back to the student for corrections.
