The “Junior Hostel Scheme” was launched on 1st January 1966 by the Tribal Welfare and Scheduled Caste (SC) Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh. The scheme provides free hostel accommodation and mess facilities to Scheduled Tribe (ST) students studying in Classes 6th to 8th in government or recognized schools. Application Process

Online Application Process

Visit the Official Portal: Go to the Madhya Pradesh Tribal Affairs & Scheduled Caste Welfare Automation System (MPTAAS) portal.
New Registration: Click on “New Beneficiary Profile Registration“.
Enter Details: Fill in the required fields. Fields marked with (*) are mandatory.
Upload Documents: Attach the necessary documents such as ID proof, caste certificate, domicile certificate, and previous class mark sheet.
Submit Application: Click “Submit” after completing the form.
Receive Registration Number: After successful submission, a registration number will be generated.

Login and Application Submission

Go to MPTAAS Portal and log in using User ID, Password, and Captcha Code.
Select Scheme: Click on “Junior Hostel Scheme” from the available options.
Fill in Details: Enter all required information and upload supporting documents.
Final Submission: Click on “Submit Application” to complete the process.

Offline

Step 1: The interested applicant should visit (during office hours) the Hostel Superintendent Block Education Officer Principal District Coordinator/Assistant Commissioner, and request the hard copy of the prescribed format of the application form from the concerned authority.

Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, paste the passport-sized photograph (signed across, if required), and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).

Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents, within the prescribed period (if any), to the authority.

Step 4: Request a receipt or acknowledgement from the concerned authority to whom the application has been submitted. Ensure that the receipt contains essential details such as the date and time of submission, and a unique identification number (if applicable).
