The “Assistance For Patent Registration / Trade Mark Registration” is a sub-scheme under the “Investment Promotion Scheme (IPS)” for the MSME sector. It was initially launched on 3rd July 2015 by the Department of Industries, U.T. Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu for a five-year period. The scheme has now been extended from 20th May 2022 and will remain operative till 19th May 2027.

The purpose of this sub-scheme is to support individuals and legal entities in the MSME sector in securing intellectual property rights for their products or processes, thereby enhancing competitiveness and innovation.

Benefits

  • 75% reimbursement of the cost/expenditure incurred on patent/trade mark registration

  • Maximum cap of ₹25,00,000 per applicant/enterprise

  • Attorney fee limits:

    • Domestic Patent: ₹50,000

    • International Patent: ₹2,00,000 per country

  • The reimbursement is subject to the overall ceiling of 75% of the actual cost incurred

Eligibility

  • Applicant must be an:

    • Individual

    • New or Existing Manufacturing/Service Unit under MSME

    • Enterprise undertaking Expansion or Diversification

  • The enterprise must:

    • Be located in Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu

    • Have commenced commercial production between 20.05.2022 and 19.05.2027

    • Apply within one year from the date of publication/notification of the Patent or Trade Mark

Registration Process:

  1. Visit the registration page on the official portal

  2. Fill in the required details and click “Register”

  3. Verify your email using the verification link (check spam folder if needed)

  4. Click on the link/URL or paste it in your browser to complete account verification

  5. Enter “111111” as OTP to verify your mobile number

  6. Login credentials will be sent to your registered email

  1. Visit the User Login page

  2. Login using registered mobile number and PIN

  3. Click on “Departments & Services” from the menu

  4. Scroll to “District Industries Centre DD & DNH” and click “Click Here” under IPS

  5. Fill the Common Application Form and upload required documents

  6. Review the details and click “Submit”
