The Internship Scheme is an initiative by the Department of Forests and Wildlife, Government of NCT of Delhi (GNCTD). This scheme provides internship training to students studying in recognized schools, institutions, and universities. The internship allows students to gain hands-on experience in different sections of the Department of Forests and Wildlife.
Students from the fields of Forestry, Technology, Wildlife, Social Sciences, Science, Economics, Law, Management, and Finance are eligible to apply.
Internship Duration
- The internship duration is determined based on the selected domain of work and shall not exceed 90 days under normal circumstances.
- If an intern’s project requires significant additional work, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) may approve an extension of up to one additional month.
Benefits
Experience Certificate
- Upon successful completion, interns will receive a Certificate along with a grading based on their performance.
Logistics & Support
- Facilities such as transportation to the work site, printing of study materials, etc., will be provided by the Department.
Stipend
- No stipend will be provided under this internship scheme.

- The internship is open to students studying in recognized schools, institutions, or universities.

- Preference will be given to applicants with a clear Statement of Purpose (SoP) for the internship.
Educational Qualifications

Students pursuing Science, Forestry, Ecology, Computer Science, Electronics, and Related Courses:
- Second-year and above of Bachelor’s Degree and Integrated 5-year courses in these fields.
- Higher Secondary (Science stream) students are also eligible.

- BA/BSc/MA/MSc in Economics.
- Students enrolled in a 5-year Integrated Degree in Economics.
- MBA students.

- Second and third-year students of a Bachelor’s Degree in Law.

- Students in the Science and Commerce streams can apply.
Important Notes:
- Interns must clearly indicate their area of interest.
- Interns can apply for a maximum of 3 disciplines.
- Applicants must submit a Statement of Purpose (SoP) (not exceeding 1000 words), covering:
- Reasons for interest in the internship.
- Relevant skill set for the selected domain.
- Expected contributions during the internship.
- The final internship topic and domain will be assigned by the Research Advisory Committee.
- Supporting educational documents and skill certifications must be submitted.
Terms & Conditions
- Interns must submit a paper/report on their work related to natural resource management and its relevance to the Department.
- Interns may be required to participate in research, training, and fieldwork.
- Interns must present a final report to their designated Guide before completion.
- Interns must work within the premises of the Department and may leave the premises only with prior permission.
- The final product of the internship remains the intellectual property of the Department, and interns must obtain prior approval to use it externally.
- Strict discipline must be maintained during the internship.
- The internship does not guarantee a job in the Department.
- The Department reserves the right to terminate the internship at any time if the intern’s performance is unsatisfactory.

Important Application Notes:
