The scheme “Subsidy for Energy Efficiency” is a sub-scheme under the “Incentive Scheme for MSMEs in Powerloom Sector”. It was launched on 1st January 2022 by the Department of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises and Textiles, Government of West Bengal, and shall remain valid up to 31st December 2024.

Objective of the Incentive Scheme for MSMEs in Powerloom Sector

To provide fiscal incentives for the installation of new-age shuttleless powerlooms to boost production of improved quality fabrics and create a sustainable ecosystem for MSMEs in the textile sector.

Objective of the Subsidy for Energy Efficiency Sub-scheme

To reimburse eligible enterprises for:

  • Cost of energy audit conducted by a certified agency (post-implementation of recommendations)

  • Cost of energy conservation installations as per the audit

Benefits

  • 50% subsidy on the cost of energy audit

  • 25% subsidy (up to ₹2,00,000) for installations required for energy conservation

Eligibility

  • Applicable to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the powerloom sector

  • Production must have started between 01.01.2022 and 31.12.2024

  • Must have executed a Four-party agreement with Directorate of Textiles, Financial Institution, and Tantuja

  • Must be in the private, cooperative, joint sector, or owned by the State Government/Industrial SHGs

  • Must have an approved project report prepared by a financial institution

Exclusions

  • Enterprises with previously issued eligibility certificates or already sanctioned/disbursed incentives

  • Enterprises that started production before 31.12.2021

  • Units applying under older state incentive schemes after the cut-off date

Application Process

Offline Mode

  • Eligible enterprises must apply in Form-A2 after production begins

  • Deadline for first application: Within 12 months from the commercial production date (from 01.01.2022 to 31.12.2024)
