“Incentive Award for Marriage with Disabled Person” is a grant by the Social Welfare Department, Govt. of Manipur. In this scheme, an incentive is granted to a person who marries a Person with Disability. This is a state-sponsored scheme and only citizens who are domiciled in the State of Manipur can apply. The marriage must take place in Manipur, and both the husband and wife should be living together at the time of applying. Benefits

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a domicile of the State of Manipur.

      • has been subject to recurrent attacks of insanity or epilepsy.
    • The bridegroom must be at least 21 years old and the bride at least 18 years old at the time of marriage.
    • The parties are not within the degrees of prohibited relationship unless permitted by their custom or usage.
    • Neither party is an idiot or lunatic.

Note: If divorce or dissolution of the marriage occurs within 3 to 5 years from the date of receipt of the first installment (i.e. 10% of the incentive), the spouse without disability must refund 50% of the total amount as an arrear of land revenue within one year; otherwise, the principal amount with an annual interest of 6.5% will be charged.

The application process is conducted offline:
