ICCR Internship Program 2025: Apply, ELigibility

The Internship Policy of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) offers an exceptional opportunity for budding scholars to understand the role of soft power in India’s foreign policy. Under the Ministry of External Affairs, ICCR aims to provide hands-on exposure in fields such as cultural mapping, creative writing, technology upgradation in EGIT, performing and visual arts, and social media in cultural diplomacy. This initiative is designed to blend classroom knowledge with practical experience, encouraging active participation through research and experimentation.


Intake and Locations

Number of Interns:

  • A maximum of 15 interns will be engaged annually.

Placement Locations:

Interns will be placed at ICCR headquarters in New Delhi or its Regional Offices in:

  • Mumbai
  • Pune
  • Kolkata
  • Guwahati
  • Ahmedabad
  • Hyderabad

Duration

  • Each intern will be engaged for a maximum period of four months.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct research, write reports, analyze developments, and perform other assigned tasks.
  • Focus on specific topics allocated by Sectional Heads.
  • Contribute to cultural initiatives such as:
    • Module creation for arts
    • Historical cultural linkages
    • Social media strategies

Benefits

Honorarium:

  • ₹10,000/- per month.

Airfare:

  • One-time to and fro economy airfare between the state capital and Delhi (or the applicant’s college/university).

Logistics Support:

  • Necessary logistics based on functional requirements.

Certificate:

  • Issued upon satisfactory completion, submission, and evaluation of the intern’s report or presentation.

Note: Interns are responsible for their boarding and lodging in the respective locations.

Citizenship: The applicant must be an Indian citizen.

    • Languages
    • Museology
    • Fine Arts
  • Postgraduate/Research students and foreign language students are also eligible.

Age: Applicants must be 25 years or younger as of 31st December of the application year.

Academic Record: The applicant should have an excellent academic track record.

University Recognition: Preference will be given to students from recognized universities in India.


Reservation / Preference / Priority

  • Research scholars with expertise in International Relations or Soft Power Projection will be prioritized.
  • Candidates with the highest marks are more likely to be shortlisted for personal interviews.

Exclusions- Individuals who previously opted out of the internship program are barred from reapplying.
