The Haryana Pre-Matric Scholarship for Minority Students was launched in June 2006 under the Prime Minister’s New 15-Point Programme for the Welfare of Minorities. It is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme implemented by the Government of Haryana.

The scholarship aims to encourage students from minority communities to continue their school education by providing financial assistance for tuition fees, admission fees, and maintenance allowances for students studying in Classes 1 to 10.


Benefits of the Scheme

Admission Fees (Classes 6 to 10)

  • Up to ₹500 per annum (for both hostellers and day scholars).

Tuition Fees (Classes 6 to 10)

  • Up to ₹350 per month (for both hostellers and day scholars).

Maintenance Allowance (for 10 months per year)

  • Class 1 to 5 (Day Scholars): ₹100 per month.
  • Class 6 to 10:
    • Hostellers: ₹600 per month.
    • Day Scholars: ₹100 per month.

Important Notes:

  • 30% of scholarships are reserved for girl students.
  • Priority is given based on financial need rather than academic marks.
  • Renewal applications are processed first, before considering new applications.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must belong to the Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Jain, or Zoroastrian (Parsi) community in Haryana.
The applicant must be studying in Classes 1 to 10 in a government or private school in Haryana.
The applicant must have secured at least 50% marks in the previous final examination.
The annual family income should not exceed ₹1,00,000 from all sources.
The applicant must be enrolled in a school notified by the State Government.
The applicant must be a regular student in the school.


Application Process

Mode of Application: Online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

Step 1: Register on NSP

  1. Visit the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
  2. Click on “New Registration”.
  3. Read the guidelines carefully and accept the terms. Click “Continue”.
  4. Fill out the Registration Form with required details.
  5. Submit the form and note down the Application ID and password received via SMS.

Step 2: Login & Apply

  1. Click on “Login to Apply” and enter your Application ID and password.
  2. Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number.
  3. Set a new password and confirm it.
  4. Click “Submit” to access your Applicant Dashboard.

Step 3: Fill the Scholarship Application

  1. Click on “Application Form” in the left panel.
  2. Fill in the required details (marked as * are mandatory).
  3. Upload the required documents.
  4. Click “Save as Draft” to complete it later OR “Final Submit” to submit your application.

Proof of Minority Status (Caste/Community Certificate).
Income Certificate (showing total family income below ₹1,00,000).
Marksheet (Previous Final Examination).
School Enrollment/Admission Proof.
Proof of Residence (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Ration Card, etc.).
