The “Gujarat Textile Policy” is an umbrella scheme introduced by the Industries and Mines Department, Government of Gujarat. Effective from October 1, 2024, to September 29, 2029, the policy aims to promote green growth and sustainability by supporting energy and water efficiency measures in the textile industry. The initiative focuses on enhancing competitiveness while reducing carbon footprints across the textile value chain.
The Assistance for Saving in Consumption of Energy and Water component encourages both new and existing industrial units to undertake energy/water audits and adopt recommended resource-saving equipment by offering financial assistance.
Benefits
• Audit Reimbursement: 75% of the cost of an energy or water audit by a recognized institution/consultant, subject to a maximum of ₹50,000/- (once per unit during the policy period)
• Equipment Cost Assistance: 25% of the cost of recommended energy/water-saving equipment, subject to a maximum of ₹20,00,000/- (one-time)
Eligibility
• Open to both existing and new textile industrial units
• Units must take specific actions to reduce energy and/or water consumption
• A minimum of 10% reduction in energy or water consumption is mandatory (based on the average of the previous 12 months before audit) to be eligible for equipment subsidy

Step 1: Submit the application in prescribed format to the Industries Commissioner along with required documents within one year from the date of:

Step 2: After scrutiny and verification, the registration certificate is issued by the Industries Commissioner.
Application for Provisional/Final Eligibility Certificate: • MSME (GFCI up to ₹10 Cr): Apply to General Manager, District Industries Center
• MSME (GFCI ₹10 Cr – ₹50 Cr): Apply to MSME Commissioner within 1 year from DoCP or date of GR
• Other Units (above ₹50 Cr): Apply to Industries Commissioner within 1 year of DoCP or registration certificate date
