The Generator Subsidy is a dedicated component of the broader Motivation of Entrepreneurs to Start Industries and Fiscal Assistance to Industries scheme, launched by the Industries and Commerce Department, Union Territory of Puducherry. It aims to support the installation of generator sets in micro, small, and medium industrial units by providing financial relief on their capital investment.
Benefits
• 50% subsidy on generator set investment
• Maximum cap of ₹5,00,000 per industrial unit
• Applicable only on investments made on or after 5th March 2009
Eligibility
• The applicant must be a Micro, Small, or Medium Industrial Unit
• The unit must belong to the Manufacturing or Service Sector
• The generator set must be newly purchased and installed
• Investment must have been made on or after 05-03-2009
Application Process
Mode: Offline
Step 1: Download and print the prescribed application form from the Official Website of the Directorate of Industries and Commerce, Puducherry
Step 2: Fill in all the mandatory details and self-attest the required documents
Step 3: Submit the completed application and documents to the concerned authority in the department
Step 4: Request and retain a receipt or acknowledgment with a unique ID number, date, and time for tracking
Note: This component does not require clearance by the State Level Committee. The application will be directly processed and sanctioned by the Industries Department.
Application Deadline
• For New Units: Within 1 year from the date of commencement of production / obtaining Entrepreneurs Memorandum Part-2 or Permanent Registration
• For Existing Units (Expansion/Diversification/Modernization): Within 1 year of completion of the upgrade

• Entrepreneurs Memorandum Part-2 (UAM/PMT) or Production Certificate
• Caste Certificate (for SC/ST Entrepreneurs, if applicable)
• Loan Sanction Letter (if financed)
• Purchase Invoices for Generator / Plant & Machinery
• Chartered Accountant Certificate verifying fixed asset investment
• Month-wise Interest Paid Statement from bank / financial institution
• No-Due Certificate from lender (if applicable)
• PF-related Documents:

– Salary/Wage Payment Statements
– PF Remittance Proof for the claim period
• Notary Affidavit (as per department’s format)
