DU Financial Assistance 2025: Fee Waivers for Economically Weaker Students Under FSS

The Financial Support Scheme (FSS) is an initiative by Delhi University (DU) to provide financial assistance to economically weaker students enrolled in various Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) programs at the Department/Institution/Centre of DU. The scheme ensures equity and access to quality education by offering fee waivers for eligible students.


Benefits

The scheme offers fee waivers based on family income:

Category 1 ≤ ₹4,00,000 Up to 100% Actual fee or up to a maximum of ₹10,000/-
Category 2 ₹4,00,000 – ₹8,00,000 Up to 50% Actual fee or up to a maximum of ₹8,000/-

Note: Examination fees & hostel fees are not covered under this scheme.


Eligibility

  • The student must be a bonafide student of Delhi University.
  • The student must be enrolled in any UG/PG degree program at a Department/Institution/Centre of DU.
  • The family income of the student must be less than ₹8,00,000 per annum.

Exclusions

  • Students with Essential Repeat (ER) papers are not eligible for the fee waiver.
  • Students who already availed fee waiver at the time of admission in 2023-24 (B.Tech/Five-Year Integrated Law Programs) are not eligible for this scheme.

Application Process

Online Application Process

  1. Visit the Official Website:
    • Eligible students can fill in the online application form available on the Dean Students’ Welfare (DSW) Office website.
  2. Submit the Application & Documents:
    • After filling out the form online, students must submit a hard copy of the application with required documents after due attestation and recommendation from the Head/Director of the concerned Department/Centre/Institute at the DSW Office.
  3. Check Submission Schedule:
    • The schedule for submission of the hard copy will be announced on the DSW website.

  1. Copy of EWS/OBC-NCL Certificate OR Annual Family Income Certificate issued by the competent authority.
    • (Income Certificate signed by a notary is NOT accepted)
  2. Self-attested copies of latest Income Tax Returns (2022-23) of the following family members:
    • Father
    • Mother
    • Sisters (Unmarried)
    • Brothers (Unmarried & below 25 years of age)
  3. Copy of PAN Card(s) of all the above-mentioned family members.
  4. Signed copy of the Undertaking Form.
  5. Copy of Bonafide Certificate signed by the Head/Director of the Department/Centre/Institute.
  6. Copy of Marksheet of the last examination passed.
  7. Copy of Latest Fee Receipt.
  8. Copy of Bank Passbook (showing Student’s Name, Account Number & IFSC Code) OR Cancelled Cheque.

A: No, this scheme is only for students studying at a Department/Institution/Centre of DU.

A: Yes, First-Year/Semester students are eligible if they meet the income criteria.
