Education Assistance/Ph.D. Scheme by Gujarat Building and Construction Workers Welfare Board

The “Education Assistance/Ph.D Scheme” is implemented by the Gujarat Building and Other Construction Worker’s Welfare Board (GBOCWWB), Labour, Skill Development & Employment Department, Government of Gujarat. Under this scheme, financial assistance is provided once a year to any two children of a construction worker for the career development of bright and needy construction worker students seeking admission in the higher education courses of the state and for the purpose that the child of the construction worker may progress in education and become doctor/engineer.

Hostel Assistance

  • ₹1,200 per month as board & food allowance (for 10 months) for students studying outside their taluk of residence in courses such as Bachelors, Engineering, and Medical.

Book Assistance (One-Time Aid for First-Year Students)

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be the child of a construction worker registered with the GBOCWWB.
  • The child must be enrolled in any grade from Class 1 to higher education/professional courses.
  • Financial assistance is provided once a year and is limited to two children per construction worker.

Terms and Conditions

  • Maximum age limit for children to receive the scholarship is 30 years (no age limit for disabled students).
  • The scholarship is available only for the first attempt in an academic year.
  • Students who fail in the same class will not receive assistance for that class again.
  • Board assistance is not provided if the student is admitted through Right to Education (RTE), Open University, External Study, or receives assistance from another department.

Application for ‘E-Nirman Card’ (Mandatory for Scheme Eligibility)

Step 1: Visit the e-Nirman Portal.
Step 2: Click on “Please Register Here” under ‘Login to Portal’.
Step 3: Enter all required details and click “Register”.
Step 4: Log in using the User ID and Password.
Step 5: Update your profile with necessary details and click “Update”.
Step 6: Select “Construction Works Form”, fill out mandatory details, and upload required documents.
Step 7: Agree to the terms & conditions and submit the form.
Step 8: Save the Application Number for tracking status.

Tracking Application Status

Step 1: Visit the e-Nirman Portal.
Step 2: Click on “View Citizen Application Status”.
Step 3: Enter Application Number and Date of Birth.
Step 4: Click on “View Status”.

Step 2: Click on “Please Register Here” under Citizen Login.
Step 3: Enter Aadhaar Card Number, User Type, and E-Nirman Card Number.
Step 4: Click “Fetch” & submit the details.

Step 6: Select the desired scheme and read the instructions carefully.
Step 7: Fill out the application form and upload necessary documents.
Step 8: Agree to the Rules & Regulations and submit the form.

  • Applications must be submitted within six months of the academic session’s commencement.
  • Separate applications must be submitted for each child if two children are applying.
  • Incomplete or incorrect applications will be rejected.
