Revised/Implementated by Directorate of Welfare of Scheduled Caste & Backward Classes — Government of Haryana in year 2009, The Dr. Ambedkar Medical Aid Scheme gives medical relief to the patients belonging to Scheduled Caste(SC)/Scheduled Tribe(ST) suffering from serious diseases requiring surgery.
This program is for a range of life-threatening diseases surgeries biggest category Kidney,Heart,Liver,Cancer, Brain,Knee,Spinal operation And recognised Govt/Private hospitals all over India for treatments.
Benefits

Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) community.
- The annual family income must not exceed ₹1,00,000 per annum.
- The patient must require surgery for a serious ailment such as:
- Kidney, Heart, Liver, Cancer, Brain, Knee, or Spinal surgery
- Any other life-threatening disease requiring surgical treatment

- Obtain Medical Certification
- The patient must get an Estimated Cost Certificate from the Medical Superintendent of the hospital where surgery is planned.
- The certificate should include the date of surgery (if possible).
- Prepare Required Documents
- Caste certificate (SC/ST).
- Income certificate (proving annual income is less than ₹1,00,000).
- Ration card.
- Medical treatment cost estimate (certified by the Medical Superintendent).
- Get Application Recommended & Forwarded
- The application must be recommended and forwarded by:
- A local Member of Parliament (MP) – Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha
- District Magistrate & Collector / Deputy Commissioner of the concerned district
- Secretary in charge of Health & Social Welfare Departments of the State/UT

- Estimated Cost Certificate (signed by the Medical Superintendent of the hospital).
- Original or attested copies of:
- Income Certificate
- Caste Certificate
- Ration Card
- Recommendation Letter (from an MP, District Magistrate, or Health Department Secretary).
- Certification from the Medical Superintendent that the total medical aid from all sources does not exceed the estimated treatment cost.
- Attested photograph of the patient on the application form.
