The D. D. Kosambi Research Fellowship Scheme has been designed by the Directorate of Art and Culture, Government of Goa to encourage Goan scholars to undertake research in Goan history, culture, arts, social studies, and related fields. The scheme offers three fellowships annually, one each at the junior, senior, and post-doctoral levels.
Objectives
- To encourage Goan scholars to conduct research in the fields of society, economy, polity, history, art, and culture of Goa.
- To develop research activities in Goa.
- To promote interdisciplinary research programs in colleges and universities.
Benefits
- Junior category students may get ₹ 15,000 monthly for two years.
- Scholars in senior and post-doctoral categories may get ₹20,000 monthly for two years.
- Full-time researchers may get up to ₹ 30,000 per month, with the research duration specified by the selection committee.
Number of Fellowships
- A maximum of one fellowship per category is awarded each year.
- Fellowship amounts are decided by the selection committee after project submission.
Eligibility
- Junior category: Post-graduate scholars up to 35 years of age.
- Senior category: Post-graduate scholars above 35 years of age.
- Post-doctoral category: PhD holders (no age limit).
- A scholar can receive the fellowship only once per category.
Exclusions
- A fellow cannot apply for another fellowship from the department for 10 years after project submission.
- Extensions or grace periods will not be considered under financial assistance.
