The Chief Minister Higher Education Encouragement Scholarship Scheme is an initiative by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Uttarakhand, aimed at providing scholarships to meritorious students pursuing graduation or post-graduation in government colleges. Benefits

For Graduation Students

  • First-year students (based on Class 12th marks):
    • 1st Position: ₹3,000/- per month
    • 2nd Position: ₹2,000/- per month
    • 3rd Position: ₹1,500/- per month

Additional Scholarships

  • Top 10% of students in each faculty scoring 75%+ marks and 75% attendance will receive ₹1,500/- per month.
  • If more than 10% of students qualify, the highest scoring 10% will be selected.
  • In case of a tie in marks, all students with the same percentage as the last one in the top 10% will receive the scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The student must be a permanent resident of Uttarakhand.
  • The student should be enrolled in a Graduation or Post-Graduation course at a Government College or University.
  • For Graduation 1st Year: Minimum 80% in Class 12th.
  • For Graduation 2nd, 3rd, 4th Year: Minimum 60% in the previous year.
  • For Post-Graduation: Minimum 60% in the previous year.
  • The student must secure a top 3 position in their respective year and course.
  • The student must have a minimum of 75% attendance in the college.
  • The student should not have faced any disciplinary or legal action.
  • The student cannot receive multiple state government scholarships at the same time.

  2. Click on “Register” and fill in details such as Name, Date of Birth, Email, Mobile Number, Father’s and Mother’s Name, and Captcha Code.
  3. Click “Register” to complete the process.

  1. Go to the Samarth Portal and click on “Login”.
  2. Select the relevant login option.
  3. Access the dashboard and click on “Apply for Scheme”.
  4. Upload the required documents and submit the application.
