The Research Fellowship in Sciences for meritorious students BSR scheme of the UGC is open to candidates who are selected for registering for the Ph.D. program of the university through a procedure outlined already in the UGC notification by a regular admission procedure. Benefits:

  1. Fellowship:

    • For GATE/NET Qualified candidates:
      • JRF: ₹24,800/- pm for the first 2 years.
      • SRF: ₹27,900/- pm for the remaining period.
    • For others:
      • JRF: ₹21,700/- pm for the first 2 years.
      • SRF: ₹24,800/- pm for the remaining period.
  2. Contingency Grant:

    • ₹12,000/- per year for JRF.
    • ₹25,000/- per year for SRF.
  3. House Rent Allowance (HRA):

    • Hostel accommodation (if available) is provided, and the fellow will only be eligible for hostel fees excluding other charges.
    • If the fellow arranges accommodation, HRA is paid as per the Government norms.

    • Fellows are entitled to a maximum of 30 days of leave per year, in addition to public holidays.
    • Maternity/paternity leave is available at full fellowship rates once during the tenure.
  6. Academic Leave: In special cases, fellows may take academic leave without fellowship for up to one year.
