The “Subsidy for Patent Registration (PRS)” is a sub-scheme under the “Banglashree for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises” scheme. It was launched on 1st April 2020 by the Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Textiles, Government of West Bengal and is valid until 31st March 2025.

Objectives of the “Subsidy for Patent Registration (PRS)” Scheme:

Reimburse expenses incurred by eligible MSMEs for obtaining Patent Registration

Promote innovation and IP rights among small businesses
Benefits

Reimbursement Amount: 50% of the cost incurred towards obtaining a patent

Maximum Limit: ₹5,00,000 per eligible enterprise
Note: The subsidy is available only for approved projects and valid Patent Registration
Eligibility Criteria

The enterprise must be a Micro, Small, or Medium Enterprise

It must belong to the manufacturing sector

It must have started commercial production on or after 1st April 2019

It should be under:

The Date of Commencement of Commercial Production (DOCCP) must fall between 1st April 2020 and 31st March 2025
Exclusions
Ineligible Enterprises:

Enterprises that have already received incentives under any existing State incentive scheme

Enterprises that started production before 1st April 2019

Enterprises issued eligibility certificates without disbursement/sanction

1. Registration Process

Visit the Shilpasathi Portal and click ‘Apply Online’

Click ‘Create New’ for new registration

Select Applicant Type (Industry/Business/Charitable Society/Govt. entity)

Enter Registration Number and required details

Fill in mandatory fields on ‘User Registration’ and click ‘Register’

Login with your credentials or OTP

On dashboard, click ‘ALL SERVICES’ → ‘MSME Incentive’

Click ‘Create CAF’ (CAF ID will be generated)

Click ‘Apply Online’

Fill Eligibility Form and click “Save and Continue”

Fill out the Common Application Form (CAF) and click “Update and Continue”

Submit to reach Dashboard → click “Click to Proceed”

Click Save, then Preview your form

Click “Go to Application” to access Online Form-A

In “APPLY SUBSIDY”, fill year-wise details and click SAVE

Go to “FILL UP SUBSIDY”, provide details, and click Add More if needed
