The “Assistance for Technology Acquisition” scheme is implemented by the Industries and Commerce Department, UT of Puducherry. It aims to support the acquisition of appropriate technology in any form for specific products or processes. This assistance is in the form of a 50% grant, capped at ₹10,00,000. The scheme has been operational since 1st April 2017 across Puducherry.

Eligibility

New units acquiring new technology

Existing units introducing a new product or improving production processes

Units must provide 60% local employment from Puducherry

No transfer/disposal of fixed assets for 5 years post-disbursement

Additional investments post-initial claim are also eligible (within ceiling limit)

New industries: Commenced production on or after 01.04.2017

Existing industries: Commenced production before 01.04.2017
Special Cases

Units set up by the same person but with different locations and registrations are treated as separate entities and are eligible independently.

No assistance is provided for the purchase of plant, machinery, or equipment

Post-Application Process

Applications will be scrutinized by the Directorate of Industries

State Level Committee evaluates and recommends the eligible amount based on merit
