The Government of Telangana has launched Arogya Lakshmi Scheme. This scheme provides pregnant and lactating women one full meal at the Anganwadi center and iron and folic acid tablets. Spot feeding of the meal is ensured through this scheme. The Government of Telangana launched this scheme on 1st January 2015. This scheme will be implemented through 31897 main Anganwadi centers and 4076 mini Anganwadi centers in the state.

Benefits
- Pregnant Women:
- One full meal at the Anganwadi center.
- The meal includes rice, dal, leafy vegetables/sambar, and vegetables for 25 days, boiled eggs, and 200 ml milk for 30 days in a month.
- Iron and folic acid tablets are provided to reduce anemia.
- Lactating Women:
- One full meal daily with 200 ml milk for 25 days and one boiled egg each day.
- Children (7 months to 3 years):
- 16 eggs per month and 2.5 kg of Balamrutham (a weaning food).
- Children (3 years to 6 years):
- One egg daily with rice, dal, vegetables, and snacks.
- Balamrutham:
- A fortified weaning food designed to provide iron, calcium, vitamins, and other nutrients to children between 7 months and 3 years.
Eligibility
- Pregnant women and lactating mothers.
- Children under the age of 6 years.
- Residents of Telangana only.
- Income criteria: Families with low income may get priority.

- Non-pregnant women or women who are not lactating.
