Saksham Scholarship Scheme 2024-25 (offered by MOE and implemented by AICTE) — Provides financial assistance to the students who are admitted under any level of technical education specifically meant for the differently abled.
Functional students can pursue technical courses under this scheme and the financial barrier that comes with it is not an obstacle, keeping students with disabilities motivated.
Benefits of the Scheme
- Scholarship Amount: ₹50,000 per annum
- Covers college fees, purchase of books, computer, stationeries, equipment, and software.
- Duration:
- Maximum 3 years for first-year admitted students.
- Maximum 2 years for lateral entry (second-year) students.
- Disbursement:
- Scholarship is credited directly to the student’s bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.
- Renewal:
- Renewed annually upon submission of promotion certificate/mark sheet and a letter from the institution.
Eligibility Criteria
- Academic Qualification
- The applicant should be admitted to:
- First year of a Diploma-level course OR
- Second year of a Diploma-level course (lateral entry) in an AICTE-approved institution.

- The candidate must be specially-abled with a disability of not less than 40%.
- Income Limit
- Family income should not exceed ₹8 lakh per annum.
- A valid income certificate issued by the State/UT Government is required.
Exclusions
- Failure in Exams:
- Students who fail to get promoted to the next class/year will lose the scholarship.
- Gap Between Studies:
- The gap between passing the qualifying examination and admission to a diploma course should not exceed 2 years.
- Other Financial Assistance:
- The scholarship will be discontinued if the student is receiving any other financial assistance/scholarship/stipend from another source.
- If found receiving benefits from other sources, the entire scholarship amount must be refunded to AICTE.

Online Application Process
- Prepare Documents
- Keep soft copies of all the required documents before starting the application process.
- Visit National Scholarship Portal (NSP)
- Go to www.scholarships.gov.in.
- Click on “New Registration”.
- Read the guidelines, accept the terms, and click “Continue”.
- Register as a New User
- Fill in the required details.
- Click “Register”.
- Your Application ID and password will be displayed and sent via SMS.
- Login & Fill the Application Form
- Go to scholarships.gov.in/fresh/newstdRegfrmInstruction.
- Click on “Login to Apply”.
- Enter your Application ID & Password, fill in the Captcha, and click “Login”.
- Verify OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
- Create a new password and submit.
- Fill in the Application Form
- Click on “Application Form” in the dashboard.
- Fill in all mandatory fields (marked with *).
- Upload scanned copies of the required documents.
- Submit the Application
- Click “Save as Draft” if you want to review the application later.
