The AICTE-INAE Distinguished Visiting Professorship (DVP) Scheme, launched jointly by the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in 1999, aims to enhance industry-academia collaboration. The scheme enables experienced professionals from industries and research institutions to share their knowledge with students and faculty at AICTE-approved engineering institutions.
Since 2018, the scheme has also been extended to retired INAE Fellows. It has received enthusiastic participation from industry experts and technical institutions over the years.
Objectives
The Distinguished Visiting Professors (DVPs) under this scheme will:
Deliver lectures on industry trends, R&D needs, and state-of-the-art technologies.
Guide student projects, research, and theses related to industrial applications.
Assist in curriculum development to align education with changing industry requirements.
Develop cooperative undergraduate and postgraduate programs to strengthen industry-academia collaboration.
Engage in mutually beneficial activities between engineering institutions and industry.
Benefits
Honorarium of ₹10,000 per lecture day.
Travel Reimbursement for air travel in Y-Class or actual fares if traveling by rail/road.
For Online Sessions, an honorarium of ₹10,000 per day (without travel/lodging expenses).
Eligibility Criteria
The Industry Expert should have a graduate degree in engineering or equivalent.
Age limit: 40 to 75 years (relaxation in exceptional cases by the Selection Committee).
Minimum 10 years of industry experience, with distinguished contributions in:
- Product Development
- Technology & Process Innovation
- Patents
- Publications
- Awards & Recognitions
Retired INAE Fellows are eligible to apply.
Exclusions
A DVP cannot reapply for the scheme after completing their tenure.
