The scheme provides financial assistance to eligible farmers for purchasing agricultural equipment such as power tillers, rice transplanters, self-propelled machinery, tractor-operated implements, electric motor-operated tools, etc. This initiative aims to reduce production costs and maximize the use of natural resources—land, water, and atmosphere—through modern mechanization practices. The scheme is implemented in regions of Gujarat where the Centrally Sponsored “Submissions on Agricultural Mechanization” (SMAM) scheme is not in operation (i.e., outside the 208 talukas where SMAM is implemented) and is 100% sponsored by the state government.

The beneficiary must purchase equipment only from authorized manufacturers as per the panels prepared by the Agriculture Department for periodic price discovery.
