Eligibility
- Nominee/Dependent Requirement:
The applicant must be the nominee or dependent of the deceased construction worker. - Registration:
The deceased must have been registered as a construction worker with the Puducherry Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. - Citizenship:
The deceased must have been a citizen of India. - Age of the Deceased:
The deceased must have completed 18 years of age during his/her lifetime. - Retirement Consideration:
The deceased should not have been 60 years or older in the 12 months preceding his/her engagement in construction work. - Contribution:
The deceased must have contributed regularly to the welfare fund and not defaulted in contribution payments for more than one continuous year.
Application Process
Offline Application
- Obtain Application Form:
- Visit the office of the Puducherry Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board at Industrial Estate, Thattanchavady, Puducherry (605009) and collect the prescribed application form free of cost.
- Alternatively, take a printout of the prescribed application form available under “Application for Welfare Benefits” on Page No. 69 of the Citizen’s Charter.
- Fill the Application:
- Complete all mandatory fields on the form.
- Paste a passport-sized photograph (signed across, if required).
- Attach copies of all mandatory documents (self-attested, if required).
- Submission:
- Submit the duly filled and signed application along with the documents to the concerned authority.
- Request a receipt or acknowledgement that includes the date, time of submission, and a unique identification number (if applicable).
Note:
The application must be submitted within two months from the date of death of the construction worker.
