The “Snehayanam Scheme for Mothers of Persons with Special Needs” was launched by the Department of Social Justice, Government of Kerala. Under this scheme, Electric Auto Rickshaws are provided free of cost to financially disadvantaged mothers of persons with disabilities (PwDs) covered under the National Trust Act, 1999. This initiative aims to offer a sustainable means of livelihood and alleviate the burden of caregiving for mothers, particularly those who are widowed, legally divorced, or abandoned by their husbands. In the initial phase, two beneficiaries from each district will be selected.

- The applicant’s child or ward should be a person with disabilities covered under the National Trust Act, 1999.
- Economic Status:
- The applicant should belong to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category and have no steady source of income.
- License Requirement:
