The Madhugram Scheme, also known as Madhu Gram Yojana or Madhu Vikas Yojana, is an ambitious initiative by the Government of Uttarakhand under the State Horticulture Mission. The scheme aims to promote self-employment among the unemployed youth in rural areas by establishing honey production units through beekeeping. Its objectives are to reduce rural migration, boost local employment, and help the state achieve self-sufficiency in honey production.
Benefits
- Subsidy for Beekeeping:
- Up to 80% subsidy is provided to eligible beekeepers.
- Maun Boxes:
- A maximum of 4 Maun boxes (bee boxes) per beneficiary, with financial assistance of Rs.350 per box.
- In the distribution of Maun boxes (Maun colonies), 50% of the aid amount is payable.
- Training Support:
- 7 days of beekeeping training is provided.
- 100% financial assistance is given for training under the scheme.
- Training assistance includes Rs.350 per trainee for one week’s training and an additional Rs.700 transferred directly to the trainer’s bank account, totaling Rs.1050 per trainee.
- Additional Benefits:
- Maun house descendants: Up to 10 beneficiaries may be provided housing assistance at Rs.800 per person.
