The Directorate of Art and Culture has initiated a “Scheme to Provide Financial Assistance to the Publishers for Publishing Books of Goan Authors.” By providing financial help for the printing of creative pieces that will improve Goan literature and culture, this scheme will be an effort to encourage the Goan publisher to print the books of the Goan author.
Objectives
- To publish books by the author of Goa on the booksellers of Goa.
- To encourage the creation and dissemination of original literary works in Goa.
- To provide quality publications that support and propagate Goan literature and culture.
Benefits
- The government will purchase up to 300 copies of novels published by Goan authors, provided that the total expenditure did not exceed ₹50,000.
- This benefit will be provided only if the publisher is offering a minimum reduction of 15% in the cost of the book.
Eligibility
- Publishers in Goa: The candidate needs to be a Goan publisher.
- The Goan identity of the author: The author has to be a Goan or have lived in Goa for at least ten years while working as a creative.
- Publication Experience: The candidate needs to have a lot of publication experience.
- Minimum Print Run: At least 500 copies of the book must be released.
- Certificate of No Objection of the Author: If the publishing unit is not the author, he/she/it ought to provide a No Objection Certificate.
- Quality Requirements: The book should be original and printed on high-quality paper and produced strictly according to the laid down standards.
Not Included
- The second edition does not get any grants.
- Translations, anthologies, and compilations are not considered.
- Books that cannot qualify against the requirements for new or other excellence tests will not qualify.
