The Scholarship to the Ward of Beneficiary scheme was launched by the Chandigarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (CBOCWWB), Labour Department, Chandigarh. Note:

  • If a student secures 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place in National/International Games/Sports, they will be granted a scholarship without considering their academic marks.
  • The scholarship will be given for up to two children of the worker.
  • The application must be submitted within three months from the date of issue of the mark sheet.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. The worker/beneficiary must be:

    • Working in an establishment registered under the Punjab Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1965.
    • Making regular contributions to the Labour Welfare Fund.
  2. The worker must be registered under CBOCWWB for at least six months before applying.

  3. The student should have passed 10th, 12th, or Graduation with the required percentage.

  4. The applicant should not have a compartment in any subject.

  5. If a student is already receiving a scholarship from another institution, they will not be entitled to this scholarship.

Step 1: Registration under CBOCWWB

Before applying for the scholarship, the worker must be registered with Chandigarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (CBOCWWB).

  1. Visit the Official Website: Chandigarh Labour Department
  2. Click on “Click Here for Registration” and fill in the required details.
  3. Submit the details and enter the OTP received on the registered mobile number and email.
  4. Note down your User ID and Password for future use.
  5. Login using your credentials and click on “Apply for Services”.
  6. In the search box, type “BOCW” and select “BOCW Application for Registration as a New Member/Renewal”.
  7. Download and fill the CBOCW form, then upload the scanned copy of the form.
  8. Complete the payment process and download the Acknowledgment Receipt.
