The Khadi Karigar Janashree Bima Yojana is a group insurance scheme by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MoMSME), aimed at providing insurance coverage for Khadi artisans (spinners and weavers). Additionally, the scheme provides a scholarship for children of insured Khadi artisans studying in classes 9th to 12th.
This scheme was implemented by Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) in collaboration with Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC).

Application Process
Offline Mode Only
For Claim Settlement (By the Nominee of the Deceased Artisan)
- Submit Original Death Certificate to the Pension Group Schemes Department of LIC through the Khadi Institution where the deceased artisan was a member.
- In case of accidental death, submit a police inquiry report along with the application.
- The concerned agency will verify the documents and forward them to LIC for processing.
- The Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) will settle the claims by directly sending an Account Payee Cheque to the beneficiary.
- The State Government will receive an intimation about the disbursal of benefits.
