TNCMFP Fellowship 2023: Eligibility, Benefits, and Selection Process

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Fellowship Programme (TNCMFP) is a two-year fellowship programme launched by the Government of Tamil Nadu in 2022-23. The objective of this initiative is to engage young professionals in governance to enhance policy implementation, service delivery, and data-driven decision-making. The Special Programme Implementation Department (SPID) serves as the Nodal Department, and Bharathidasan Institute of Management (BIM), Tiruchirapalli, is the academic partner for this fellowship.

A total of 30 Fellows will be selected and assigned to 12 thematic areas under this programme:

Additionally, six Fellows will be assigned to the Special Programme Implementation Department Monitoring Cell.


Duration of Fellowship

  • The tenure of the fellowship is two years.

Benefits

  • Monthly Stipend:65,000/-
  • Additional Allowance:10,000/- (for travel, mobile phone, data usage, etc.)
  • No additional financial assistance will be provided.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification:
    • First-class Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Medicine, Law, Agriculture, Veterinary Science OR
    • First-class Master’s degree in Arts/Science from a recognized university.
  • Age Limit:
    • General Category: 22-30 years (as of 25.05.2022)
    • SC/ST Candidates: Up to 35 years
    • BC/MBC Candidates: Up to 33 years
  • Language Requirement:
    • Working knowledge of Tamil is mandatory.
  • Preference Given To:
    • Candidates with a Ph.D. degree.
    • Candidates with work experience.
    • Research experience is highly valued.

Selection Process

The selection process involves three stages:

Stage 1: Preliminary Assessment (Computer-Based Test – CBT)

  • Mode: Online (Computer-Based Test)
  • Total Marks: 150
  • Sections Covered:
    1. General Awareness (Current Affairs, GK)
    2. Quantitative Aptitude (Maths, Data Interpretation)
    3. Verbal Comprehension & Logical Reasoning (Communication, Problem-Solving)
  • Negative Marking: (-0.33 marks per incorrect answer)
  • Exam Centers: Tamil Nadu cities and major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Cochin, Vishakhapatnam.

Stage 2: Comprehensive Examination (Written Test – Essay Type)

    • Tamil Heritage & Culture
  • Mode: Offline (Exam center in Chennai)
  • Candidates shortlisted for Stage 3 based on performance in this round.

Stage 3: Personal Interview

  • Location: Chennai
  • Parameters Evaluated:

    • Analytical & Logical Thinking
    • Emotional Intelligence
    • Tamil Language Proficiency
  • Final Selection is based on scores from Stage 2 & Stage 3.
