The Eklavya Prashikshan Yojana is a scholarship scheme launched by the Department of Tribal Welfare, Government of Goa. It provides financial assistance for coaching classes to Scheduled Tribe (ST) students studying in Class X, XI (Science), and XII (Arts, Science, and Commerce). The scheme prepares students for professional courses like Engineering, Medicine, Architecture, Law, CA, Paramedical Sciences, etc.
Scope
The scheme reimburses coaching fees for students enrolled in coaching institutes within Goa, recognized by the Directorate of Education or registered under the Goa Coaching Classes Regulation Act, 2001.
Coaching fees are reimbursed for the following subjects:
- Class X: Mathematics, Science & English
- Class XI (Science): Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology
- Class XII (Science): Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology
- Class XII (Commerce): Accountancy, Mathematics
- Class XII (Arts): English, Economics
Benefits
- 75% of the coaching fees reimbursed (up to: ₹10,000/year per subject in rural areas and ₹12,000/year per subject in urban areas).
- First Installment (50%): Paid during the First Term after submitting the fee receipt.
- Second Installment (25%): Paid after submitting the First Term Attendance Certificate.
Mode of Payment
- The amount is disbursed via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) upon submission of a fee receipt and fee structure certified by the coaching institute.
Eligibility
- The applicant must belong to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category.
- The student must be a regular, full-time student in a Government/Recognized School in Goa.
- Coaching fee reimbursement is allowed only once per class. If a student fails and repeats the same class, reimbursement will not be provided again.
Exclusions
- Students pursuing courses through open schooling are not eligible.
