To financially support the students from the Backward Classes so that they may continue their education, the School Education Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, is implementing a scheme, called “State Government Backward Class Scholarship (class 6 to class 10),” to help them financially. Under this project, scholarships are given to students reading in classes 6 to 10 in order to alleviate their financial burden.
Benefits

- ₹200/- per year (for boys)
- ₹300/- per year (for girls)
- Class 9 to 10:
- ₹300/- per year (for boys)
- ₹400/- per year (for girls)
- The scholarship amount is transferred directly into the student’s bank account.
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be a student in Class 6 to 10.
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh.
- The applicant must belong to the Backward Class or Minority Community.
- The parents/guardians must not be income taxpayers or own more than 10 acres of land.
- For renewal, the income of the parents/guardians should not have increased in the past year.
Application Process
Offline Registration
- Eligible students must contact the Principal of their respective schools/institutions.
- The school teacher enters the student’s profile on the education portal Shiksha Portal based on the records and certificates provided by the student.
- Upon approval, the scholarship amount is transferred directly to the student’s bank account.
