The “Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Loan for Higher Study in Foreign Countries” scheme is administered by the Directorate of Scheduled Caste Welfare, Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of Gujarat.

Launched in 1999, the scheme provides financial assistance to Scheduled Caste (SC) students who wish to pursue higher education abroad but lack sufficient funds. Eligibility

  • The beneficiary must furnish a valid surety.
  • The student must apply for the loan within six months of moving abroad.
  • If the student settles abroad, they must notify the Gujarat government until the loan is repaid.

  2. New User Registration:
    • Click on “Citizen Login” → “Please Register Here”.
    • Enter Aadhaar number, name, gender, date of birth, caste, and email ID.
    • Click on “Register”.
  3. Login to Portal:
    • Use your User ID and Password to log in.
  4. Update Profile:
    • Click on “User Profile” and enter all mandatory details.
  5. Select the Scheme:
    • Choose “Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Loan for Higher Study in Foreign Countries”.
    • Fill out the application form and upload the required documents.

Step 01: The eligible applicant may visit the nearest office of the District Deputy Director, Scheduled Caste Welfare and collect the application form. The application form can also be downloaded from the official website.
Step 02: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, paste the passport-sized photograph (signed across, if required), and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).
Step 03: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents to the concerned authority in the office.
Step 04: Request a receipt or acknowledgement from the concerned authority to whom the application has been submitted.
