Tripura Lakshya Scheme for UPSC Prelims and Mains: ₹1,20,000 Financial Assistance

The Lakshya Scheme was launched by the Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Tripura, to provide financial assistance to candidates who have cleared the Civil Services Examination (CSE) Prelims or Mains, conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

Part I: For Candidates Clearing the Prelims Exam (Appearing for Mains)

  • Financial Assistance: ₹1,00,000/-
    • ₹70,000 for coaching center fees & study materials
    • ₹30,000 for travel expenses
  • Support Duration: From the Prelims result date to the last paper of Mains

Part II: For Candidates Clearing the Mains Exam (Appearing for Interview)

  • Financial Assistance: ₹20,000/-
  • Support Duration: From the Mains result date to the UPSC Interview date

Mode of Disbursement

  • Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode
  • Candidates must inform the Implementing Agency two months before the Mains exam.
  • Candidates appearing for an interview must also notify before their interview date.
  • Financial assistance is granted only once per stage.

Eligibility

  • The candidate must be a domicile of Tripura.
  • Must have cleared the UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam.
  • Annual family income should not exceed ₹10,00,000/-.
  • A candidate can avail benefits only twice, regardless of the number of UPSC attempts.

Application Process

Online Application via Beneficiary Management System (BMS), Govt. of Tripura

Step 1: Registration

  1. Visit the BMS Portal: Tripura Beneficiary Management System
  2. Click on “Citizen Login” → “Register Here”.
  3. Fill in required details: Full Name, Email ID, and Mobile Number.
  4. Verify OTP received on your mobile and complete registration.
  5. Login using registered Mobile Number/Email ID and OTP.

Step 2: Apply for the Scheme

  1. After login, navigate to “Education Section”.
  2. Find “Lakshya – Chief Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme for UPSC (CSE)” (Scheme Code: CPBS9).
  3. Click “Enroll” → Review Scheme Info → Click “Proceed”.

Step 3: Enrollment & Document Submission

  1. Select Domicile Status.
  2. Enter Ration Card Number (If Applicable).
  3. Fill personal & address details.
  4. Upload mandatory documents.
  5. Click “Save Profile” → Reapply for the scheme → Click “Enroll”.

Step 4: Final Submission

  1. Fill Basic Information, Bank Details, and Address.
  2. Upload required documents.
  3. Click “Next” → Review and Confirm → Click “Final Submit”.
  4. Download Acknowledgment Slip for reference.

Step 5: Application Tracking & Resubmission (If Required)

  • If the application is defective, the candidate will be notified to resubmit corrections via the BMS portal.
