Visitor’s Award under the Department of Higher Education provided To encourage excellence through competition. These awards would help to promote healthy competition amongst Faculties/Students of the Central Universities and motivate them to adopt best practices from around the world in the pursuit of excellence.
Under the Visitor’s Award, there are three major categories:
- For Innovation
- For Research
- Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences
- Physical Sciences
- Biological Sciences
- For Technology Development
Who Can Nominate?
- Vice Chancellors, Deans, Directors, or Professors of the nominee’s university.
Selection Process
- Online nominations are invited via the official web portal.
- The Selection Committee will evaluate the applications and shortlist candidates.
- The final selection will be approved by the President of India in their capacity as Visitor of the Central Universities.
- The awards are presented annually during the Visitor’s Conference or the Annual Vice-Chancellors’ Conference.
Benefits
- Citation and Cash Reward of ₹2,50,000/-.
- If there are multiple awardees, each recipient will receive a minimum of ₹1,00,000/-.
