The Rajbhasha Gaurav Puraskar Scheme was launched by the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India to encourage writing original books in Hindi and promote its usage as an Official Language.
The scheme awards Indian citizens for writing books in Hindi on science-based knowledge, forensic science, criminology, police administration, culture, religion, arts, heritage, and law.

Eligibility
- The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
- Books should be written on the following subjects:
- Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, Physics, Biology, Energy, Space Science, Medicine, Chemistry, Information Technology, Management, Psychology, Globalization, Consumerism, Human Rights, and Pollution.
- Forensic Science, Police, Criminology Research, and Police Administration.
- Culture, Religion, Arts, and Heritage.
- Law and legal studies.
- Books must be originally written in Hindi (No translations allowed).
- Only books published between January 1 to December 31 of the current year are considered.
- Books must contain a minimum of 100 pages.
- Books previously awarded by any government organization are not eligible.
- Authors who received a prize in the last three years are not eligible.
Exclusions
- Theses, textbooks, poetry, novels, stories, or plays are not considered.
- Translated books are not eligible.
- Books without ISBN are not eligible.
Application Process
Offline Application
- Download the Application Form:
- Visit the official website of the Department of Official Language.
- Fill out the Author Entry Proforma with accurate details.
- Submit three copies of the book along with the application form.
- Send the application before the deadline.
Important Notes:
- Each author can submit only one entry.
- Entries without the required proforma will not be accepted.
- Books submitted will not be returned.
Evaluation Process
- An evaluation committee is constituted by the Department of Official Language.
- Experts & scholars review the books based on quality, originality, and contribution to the subject.
- Final decision is made by the Evaluation Committee, and their judgment is binding.
- If no book meets the standard, the award may not be given that year.
- In case of multiple authors, the prize money is divided equally.
