One-Time Financial Assistance for Economically Weaker Meritorious ST Students in Tripura – ₹1 Lakh

The Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Tripura has initiated the One Time Financial Assistance to Economically Weaker Meritorious ST Students scheme. The scheme provides economically weaker Scheduled Tribe (ST) students with financial support so that they can study professional and other courses in government-approved institutes and colleges. The scheme provides meritorious ST students with an opportunity to continue education without any financial limitations.

Benefits

  • One-time financial support of ₹1,00,000/-
  • Disbursed in two installments:
    • 1st Installment: ₹50,000/- immediately after selection.
    • 2nd Installment: ₹50,000/- after submitting pass certificates for the 1st-year course.

Eligibility

  • The student must be a domicile of Tripura.
  • The student must belong to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) community.
  • The student must have passed Class 10th (Madhyamik) for pre-12th courses or Class 12th (H.S Level) for post-12th courses in 2022 with at least 45% marks.
  • The student must have taken admission in a professional course listed in Annexure-A or Annexure-B during the academic year 2022-23, with a course duration of at least 2 years.

Exclusions

  • The scheme does not prevent eligible candidates from receiving the Post Matric Scholarship under existing norms.

Application Process

Online Application through NSP (National Scholarship Portal)

NSP Registration Process for Fresh Applicants:

  1. Visit NSP Portal at scholarships.gov.in.
  2. Click on “New Registration” and provide accurate details.
  3. After registration, the system will generate a Student Registration ID.
  4. Use the Student Registration ID to log in and submit a fresh application under the NSP portal.

Application Process for “One-Time Financial Support”

  1. Eligible students receive an auto-generated message notifying them of their eligibility.
  2. Visit bms.tripura.gov.in and click “Citizen Login”.
  3. If not registered, click “Register Here” and enter Name, Email ID, and Mobile Number.
  4. Verify OTP sent to your mobile number or email.
  5. On the profile page, enter the ration card number to fetch personal details.
  6. A confirmation message will appear once the profile is complete.
  7. Click “Apply Online”, select the “One-Time Financial Support for Economically Weaker Meritorious ST Students” scheme, and Enroll.
  8. Click “Proceed” to open the application form.
  9. Fill in bank details and upload the required documents.
  10. Enter NSP Registration ID and academic details, then click “Next”.
  11. Click “Final Submit” to complete the application.
  12. The system generates an Application ID.
  13. Click “View and Print Acknowledgment Slip” for records.
