Jagananna Videshi Vidya Deevena, or Andhra Pradesh Overseas Study Scholarship, is a scholarship scheme launched on 11.07.2022 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, Social Welfare Department for providing financial assistance to eligible students of Andhra Pradesh state for studying in overseas universities. The scheme is named after Shri Jaganmohan Reddy, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

Benefits

Scholarship Amount

  • Students admitted to top 100 universities globally are eligible for 100% tuition fee coverage.
  • Students admitted to universities ranked 101-200 will receive 50% of tuition fees or ₹5,00,000, whichever is lower.

Installment-Based Disbursement
Scholarship funds will be released in four equal installments for PG students:

  1. 1st Installment: Upon submission of landing permit/Immigration (I-94) card.
  2. 2nd Installment: After submitting 1st Semester/Term results.
  3. 3rd Installment: After submitting 2nd Semester/Term results.
  4. 4th Installment: Upon completion of the final semester and uploading the final mark sheet.

For Ph.D./MBBS students, additional installments will be disbursed based on semester-wise progress reports.

Additional Benefits

  • One-way economy class airfare (cheapest route) will be reimbursed upon submission of a valid visa and admission documents.
  • Full visa fee reimbursement upon submission of visa receipt and admission confirmation.

Note: The government will issue Sanction Proceedings to approved students, which can be used for visa applications.

Eligibility

General Criteria

  • Applicants must be natives of Andhra Pradesh.
  • The maximum age limit is 35 years at the time of application.
  • The family’s annual income must not exceed ₹8,00,000.
  • Only one candidate per family can apply.
  • Candidates who have previously received financial aid under similar schemes from the State or Central Government are not eligible.

Qualification Requirements

  • For PG Courses: 60% marks or equivalent in Engineering, Management, Pure Sciences, Agriculture, Medicine, Nursing, Social Sciences, or Humanities.
  • For Ph.D.: 60% marks or equivalent in PG courses in the above fields.
  • For MBBS: 60% marks in Intermediate or equivalent examination.

Additional Requirements

  • Applicants must secure admission to an accredited foreign university.
  • Selected students must join the course within six months of approval; otherwise, the sanction will be canceled.
  • The candidate cannot change the course after receiving the scholarship.

Exclusions

  • Students who have already received similar financial assistance from the State or Central Government are not eligible.

Application Process

Registration

Step 2: Click the Registration tab.
Step 3: On this page, first click on the New Registration tab.
Step 4: Fill in all the mandatory details and click “Submit”. Your Mobile Number and Email ID will be verified via OTP. Upon verification, you will be registered successfully. The Login Credentials will be mailed to the registered Email ID.

Application

Step 1: To apply for the scheme, log in on the official page.
Step 2: Fill in all the mandatory fields and upload the required documents in the file size and file type mentioned. Click “Submit”.
Step 3: On the next page, you’ll be displayed your Reference ID, confirming a successful application. You will also receive a confirmation of successful application on your registered Email ID. Save the Reference ID for future reference and to check the payment status.
Note: Before applying for the scheme, the applicant must ensure the following:
  1. Applicant Aadhar linked with bank account.
  2. Have secured 60% or more in his final.
  3. Family annual income is less than ₹ 8,00,000.
  4. Has valid Income certificate, Caste certificate, and Nativity certificate.
  5. Hold a valid passport and active bank account.

Offline Application

Step 2: On the top ribbon, click “Downloads”. Further, click “JVD Fee Reimbursement Proforma“.
Step 3: Take print of the application proforma.
Step 4: Fill in all the mandatory fields, and attach the required (self-attested documents).
Step 5: Submit the application and the attached documents to the District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) of your district.

  • Aadhaar must be linked to the applicant’s bank account.
  • Minimum 60% marks must be secured in the qualifying examination.
  • Valid income, caste, and nativity certificates are required.
  • A valid passport and active bank account are mandatory.
