Awas Bhatta Sahayata Yojana is one of the initiative implemented by Higher Education Department at Government of Madhya Pradesh to extend financial help that is necessary for students from the EWS ( Economically Weiler ) Category belonging SC and ST. It helps students who will have to go for think accommodation as they cant get access of their homes due to its long distance from colleges. This incentive for [low-income] communities is to dilute the upfront cost of housing higher education.
Important Points
- The reimbursement of rental expenses is made directly into the student’s bank account after approval.
- The Principals of government institutions serve as the approving officers for their respective institutions. For non-government institutions, the principal of a nearby government institution will act as the approving officer.
- Any rent exceeding the prescribed limit must be borne by the student.
- Students who fail or postpone their examination results will become ineligible for this scheme in the subsequent year.
Benefits
- In Major Cities:
Students residing in Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior, and Ujjain are eligible to receive ₹2,000 per month. - At District Headquarters:
Students residing at district headquarters will receive ₹1,250 per month. - At Tehsil and Development Block Level:
Students living in tehsils or development blocks are entitled to ₹1,000 per month.
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must belong to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe category.
- The applicant must be admitted as a regular student in a government or recognized non-government college.
- The applicant must not be residing in a government hostel.
- The annual family income of the student should be within ₹6,00,000 as per the Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme.
- The college and the student’s permanent residence must not fall within the same local body (urban body or gram panchayat).

- Read the registration guidelines carefully and click Continue.
