Rajasthan Young Interns Program (YIP) 2025-26: Apply for Government Internship Stipend

The Young Interns Program (YIP) is an initiative by the Government of Rajasthan designed to provide talented and progressive youth an opportunity to upgrade their skills by gaining practical experience in various government programs, schemes, and projects.

This mutually beneficial program allows:

  • The Government to gain new and innovative ideas from young interns, improving project implementation and service delivery.
  • The Interns to gain valuable knowledge about government functioning, project execution, and public administration.

Objectives

  • To empower youth with knowledge about government programs and services.
  • To enhance research and evaluation skills in public administration.
  • To develop interest among youth in the public service delivery ecosystem.
  • To obtain critical analysis of government programs for improvements.
  • To foster innovation in government schemes through youth participation.

Deployment (FY 2023-24)

A total of 300 young interns will be deployed as follows:

  • Divisional Headquarters: 3 interns per division (7 x 3 = 21)
  • District Headquarters: 2 interns per district (26 x 2 = 52)
  • Department Level: 227 interns for specific schemes/projects/programs

Duration

  • Initial internship duration: One year
  • Extension: Can be extended up to two years based on mentor evaluation, with extensions granted six months at a time.
  • Maximum duration: Two years (not extendable beyond this).

Benefits

  • Stipend: ₹30,000 per month
  • Laptop & Connectivity Support: ₹2,500 per month
  • Leaves: 1 casual leave per month (accumulated as 12 leaves per year)

Eligibility Criteria

General Requirements

  • Age: 21 to 30 years
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in English and Hindi (Reading, Speaking, Writing, and Understanding)
  • Knowledge of MS Office and ICT tools
  • Must have own laptop and internet connection

Educational Qualifications

  • Post-graduate candidates with minimum 60% marks (or CGPA 6/10) from a recognized university
  • Graduates in Engineering/Medical/Law/CA/CS with minimum 60% marks (or CGPA 6/10) from a recognized university

Preference Criteria

  • Candidates with prior work experience in relevant fields will be given preference.
  • Additional qualifications may be considered based on department-specific requirements.

Exclusions & Termination

  • No job guarantee after internship completion.
  • The government can terminate the internship at any time without citing reasons.
  • Interns found guilty of misconduct or underperforming can be terminated immediately.
  • If an intern leaves the program, they must submit:
    • A resignation letter
    • A detailed report of work completed
    • Failure to submit the report within one month may result in stipend recovery.
  • Interns cannot take any other job during the internship.

Scrutiny & Interview Process

  • A selection committee (minimum 3 members) will evaluate applications.
