The Atal Sneh Yojana was launched on 25th December 2016, on the occasion of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s ninety-second birthday, by Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani. This scheme aims to ensure the health and well-being of newborns in Gujarat. It focuses on screening newborn children for health defects and providing immediate treatment if any issues are found. The initiative covers the first two months of a child’s life. The scheme aims to replace the old annual school program previously handled by the health and education departments.
