The Medical Assistance scheme is an initiative by the Andaman & Nicobar Islands Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (ANBOCWWB), under the Department of Labour, Employment & Training, Andaman & Nicobar Administration. This scheme provides financial aid for medical treatment to registered Building & Other Construction Workers and their dependent family members in case of hospitalization due to an accident or illness.
Benefits
- ₹200 per day for the first 5 days of hospitalization and ₹100 per day thereafter, subject to a maximum of ₹5,000.
- ₹1,00,000 for medical referrals outside the Andaman & Nicobar Islands to the mainland for treatment.
- ₹1,000 per year for emergency treatment in hospitals within Andaman & Nicobar Islands (subject to a referral letter from a competent authority).
- ₹600 per day for medical referrals from outer islands to Port Blair, subject to a maximum of ₹15,000 (requires a referral letter from a government hospital or PHC).
Eligibility
- The applicant must be a resident of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
- The applicant must be engaged in building or other construction work.
- The applicant must be registered with ANBOCWWB.
- The applicant must have an active membership of the board.
- Either the worker or their dependent family member must be hospitalized due to an accident or illness.
Note:
- A medical certificate must be produced.
- A referral letter must be provided for treatment outside the islands.
Application Process
Online Application Portal Registration Process
- Visit the online portal: serviceonline.gov.in.
- Click on Register and fill in the required details.
- Verify your Email ID & Mobile Number using OTP.
- After successful validation, the applicant will be registered.
Registration Process for Construction Workers
- Log in using your registered Email ID and Password.
- Click on Apply for Services > View All Available Services.
- Search for “Registration of Construction Workers in ANBOCWWB” and proceed with the registration.
- Fill in the required details and upload the necessary documents.
- Submit the form and note down the Registration ID.
Application Process for Medical Assistance
- Log in to the online portal.
- Click on Apply for Services > View All Available Services.
- Search for “Medical Financial Assistance” and proceed with the application.
- Fill in the necessary details and upload required documents.
- Submit the application.
Tracking Application Status
- Log in to the online portal.
- Click on View Application Status > Track Application Status.
- Enter the Application Reference Number and click Get Data to check the status.
